Catching, Feeding and Harvesting
From December to March tuna are caught in the Great Australian Bight using purse seine nets, then transferred into cages and towed back into Spencer Gulf waters. Tuna are then transferred into large holding cages for several months and are fed daily on a diet of high quality bait fish.
All harvested fish are hand caught, bled, cored, gilled and gutted on board our vessels. Packaging is completed at a HACCP accredited facility 60 minutes from the farm site. The product is supplied fresh, whole, gilled and gutted in insulated cartons or super frozen to -60oC aboard Japanese Freezer vessels and Maersk sea containers.
